Numan UK Review – An Independent Assessment

Last updated September 2026. Editorially independent. ThePeptideBrief is not affiliated with Numan and does not receive payment for this review.

What is Numan?

Numan is the trading name of Vir Health Limited, a UK digital health company incorporated in 2018. It began with men’s health services and has since expanded into weight management and women’s health.
For weight loss, Numan currently offers Mounjaro, Wegovy injections, the Wegovy pill, Alli (orlistat) and Foundayo (orforglipron). Foundayo was authorised by the MHRA for weight management and type 2 diabetes on 10 August 2026, making the UK the first country in Europe to approve it.
Numan’s weight-loss service is delivered remotely through its website and app. The programme combines prescription medication where clinically appropriate with clinician support, health coaching and progress tracking.

What is included in the programme

Numan’s current weight-loss programme includes prescription medication where clinically appropriate, clinician-backed care, a dedicated health coach and access to the Numan app.
Numan says registered clinicians review patient information, prescribe where appropriate and remain available for questions, clinical concerns and dose adjustments. Health coaching is part of the programme and is delivered through the app. Numan says its coaches can include registered nutritionists, nutritional therapists and exercise physiologists, with one-to-one coaching available alongside its in-app AI coach, Nu.
Medication is dispensed by Numan Operations Limited, which Numan identifies as its registered pharmacy. The pharmacy’s General Pharmaceutical Council registration number is 9011408. Numan also states that delivery is discreet and unbranded.

The consultation process

Numan’s weight-loss process begins with an online consultation covering health, weight history and treatment suitability. Numan says its clinical team reviews the information and prescribes only where treatment is considered clinically appropriate.
For people switching from another provider, Numan says proof of a recent prescription can be reviewed and, where appropriate, the current titration schedule can be continued. The service is remote and app-based, with the clinical team available during treatment.

Pricing breakdown

Numan’s medication pricing varies by treatment, dose and the type of subscription or commitment package selected. Promotional offers can also change the amount shown at sign-up.
We do not hard-code clinic prices in our reviews because they change. See our independent Mounjaro price comparison and Wegovy price comparison for current figures across UK providers, and check Numan directly for the current terms attached to any introductory or commitment offer.

The good – genuine strengths

Numan has a large public review base. Trustpilot showed a 4.6 rating with more than 35,000 reviews when checked in September 2026. Because scores and counts change, check the current figure directly on Trustpilot.
The programme includes both clinical support and health coaching rather than medication alone. Numan’s current weight-loss pages state that a dedicated health coach is built into every programme, with the app used for progress tracking and contact with the care team.
Numan also now offers a broad range of licensed weight-management medicines from one provider: Mounjaro, Wegovy injection, Wegovy pill, Alli and Foundayo. Foundayo is particularly new, having received UK authorisation in August 2026.
Numan has also published data from its own programme. A retrospective 90-day analysis of 2,366 patients treated with tirzepatide reported greater average weight loss among patients who engaged with the Numan app and coaching than among those who used medication without engaging with those programme features. This was an observational analysis of Numan patients, not a randomised head-to-head trial.

The not so good – honest weaknesses

Negative Trustpilot reviews include complaints about billing, cancellation, customer-service delays and delivery issues. These are individual customer reports rather than proof that every customer will encounter the same problems, so we would not describe any one complaint category as statistically the most common without a full review-level analysis.
Numan also sells commitment packages as well as rolling subscriptions. Its current help information says a rolling plan can be paused or cancelled, while a commitment package may carry an early-exit fee if cancelled before the agreed period ends. That makes it important to check which type of plan you are selecting before paying.
The service is fully remote. People who specifically want routine face-to-face appointments may prefer a different model.

Who Numan suits best

Numan is most likely to suit people who are comfortable with an app-based service and want medication, clinician support, progress tracking and one-to-one health coaching from the same provider. Its current range also gives eligible patients access to both injectable and oral treatment options, subject to clinical assessment.
Numan now has a dedicated women’s-health section as well as its longstanding men’s-health services, and its weight-loss programme is marketed to both men and women.

Who Numan probably does not suit

Numan is less likely to suit people who want routine in-person care or who prefer not to manage treatment through an app-based service. It is also worth checking the exact subscription type before joining: rolling plans and commitment packages have different cancellation terms.
If your priority is a service built primarily around women’s weight management, you may also want to compare Numan with our independent Juniper review.

How to verify Numan is legitimate

Numan is a trading name of Vir Health Limited, company number 11449267. The Care Quality Commission register lists Vir Health Limited, also known as Numan, under provider ID 1-6118870417 for remote triage and medical advice.
Numan’s registered pharmacy is Numan Operations Limited. Numan’s legal terms give GPhC registration number 9011408, which matches the General Pharmaceutical Council inspection record.
The GPhC inspected the pharmacy on 20 May 2026 and recorded that standards were met. That inspection was a reinspection following September 2025, when the pharmacy had not met Standard 1.1.

Regulatory and advertising history

In July 2026, the MHRA took action over promotional emails and a text message distributed by Vir Health Limited trading as Numan. The MHRA said Numan amended its advertising following the complaint so that prescription-only weight-loss medicines were not promoted to the public. The MHRA’s notice explains that customers and former customers remain members of the public for the purposes of the advertising rules.
On 26 August 2026, the Advertising Standards Authority also published an upheld ruling against Vir Health Limited trading as Numan over two paid Facebook ads. That ruling concerned claims about the prevalence of low testosterone in men; it was not a ruling about Numan’s weight-loss medicines or the clinical safety of its weight-loss service.
The pharmacy regulatory history is separate again: Numan Operations Limited did not meet GPhC Standard 1.1 at an inspection in September 2025, but the GPhC recorded that standards were met when it reinspected the pharmacy in May 2026.

Verdict

Numan is a large UK digital health provider with a CQC-registered remote clinical service, a GPhC-registered pharmacy and a substantial public review base. Its weight-loss programme combines medication with ongoing clinician access, health coaching and app-based tracking, and its treatment range now includes Mounjaro, Wegovy injection, Wegovy pill, Alli and the newly authorised Foundayo.
There are also regulatory points worth knowing. The MHRA required Numan to amend weight-loss advertising in July 2026, the ASA upheld a separate low-testosterone advertising complaint in August 2026, and Numan’s pharmacy passed a May 2026 GPhC reinspection after failing one standard at its September 2025 inspection.
Subscription terms deserve attention because Numan offers both rolling and commitment packages, which do not have identical cancellation rules.
